With gasoline prices at all-time highs, this may be the perfect time to switch to electric vehicles.

Love them or hate them, electric motorcycles are fast becoming a reality. From daily commuters to enduro and road bikes, we’ve seen a wide variety of e-motorbikes on the road in recent years, and it’s time for us to accept that we’ll soon have to switch to e-motorbikes too.

Fortunately, there is a wide variety of e-motorbikes available for riders of all shapes, sizes and types. But before we give you our top electric motorcycles, here are a few reasons why switching to an electric motorcycle isn’t a bad idea.

No Noise: While we love the sound of a petrol-powered bike, it creates noise pollution and not everyone around you is a fan. By contrast, electric motorcycles offer a quieter experience (apart from the whirring noise) that may make your neighbours happier .

Nontoxic: Ugh! The biggest advantage of an electric motorcycle (or any other electric vehicle) is its almost zero CO2 emissions, which will have a positive impact on our planet in the long run.

Significantly lower running costs: Petrol prices are at an all-time high, and big bikes aren’t the best when it comes to fuel consumption. solution? Simple. Fast electric bike. Because the only energy required is electricity, an electric motorcycle costs far less to run than an Internal Combustion Engine bike of the same calibre. Now we know the initial cost of buying an electric car is higher, but if you’re a regular rider, an electric motorcycle will be a lot cheaper on your wallet in the long run.

If you’re a sports motorcycle fanatic who wants to go electric, the Energica Ego+ might be the best electric motorcycle for you. Not only does it offer sportbike-like performance (170 horsepower and a limited 150-mph top speed), but the Ego+ has a claimed range of 261 miles, well beyond what your Internal Combustion Engine sportbike can handle.

Additionally, the Energica Ego+ features premium sub-construction including a trellis frame, cast aluminum wheels, Marzocchi fork and Brembo brakes on both ends.

Not to mention, the Ego+ is also used in the MotoE World Championship, so it’s safe to say this bike is perfect for the track.

Range anxiety is a major concern for most people planning to use an electric vehicle. But there is a radical solution, it’s called Arc Vector.

This bike offers an amazing range of over 270 miles, and if you’re out of battery, it can be juiced in 40 minutes. Beyond that, the bike has a top speed of 124 mph and hits 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

The Arc Vector is built around a unique monocoque chassis with Ohlins TTX monobloc shocks and Brembo Stylema brakes on both ends, making this kit an absolute premium.

Do you like sporty naked motorcycles? Let us introduce you to the new Damon Hyperfighter.

Launched only a few months ago, the Damon Hyperfighter is an epic all-electric bare-metal motorcycle with a striking design. This aggressive design is complemented by equally impressive numbers, including a peak power output of 200 horsepower, a top speed of 170 mph and a claimed range of 146 miles.

The bike also features unique Shift technology that allows the rider to adjust the position of the handlebars and pedals on the fly, as well as a 360-degree camera that alerts the rider to potentially dangerous objects and vehicles.

Want to smoke a gasoline-powered motorcycle for fun? Then the Lightning LS-218 is just right for you.

It’s the fastest road-going electric motorcycle in the world, and the “218” in the name isn’t just any suffix, it represents the bike’s top speed. Well, that’s right, the Lightning LS-218 can reach a top speed of 218mph, along with an insane zero to 60mph speed in 2.2 seconds!

Those crazy performance numbers are thanks to the LS-218’s 150kW motor, which puts out 168 lb-ft and draws power from a 12kWh battery pack. Complementing this powerplant is an equally impressive foundation, including an Ohlins FGRT fork, an Ohlins TTX monoshock and forged aluminum wheels.

The main purpose of an electric motorcycle is to provide a sustainable mode of transportation, and if that’s your motivation, it doesn’t get any greener than the Tarform Luna.

I say this because nearly 55% of motorbike parts are 3D printed from recycled materials like pineapple leaf fibre and recycled aluminum.

But the Tarform doesn’t stop there, using an impressive motor and battery combo that gives this bike a 120-mile range and a 120-mph top speed. There are also features such as digital circular instrumentation with HD display, full LED lighting, three driving modes, 180-degree rear-view camera, keyless ignition and smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.

We rarely see electric cruiser bikes, but the Evoke 6061 happens to be one of them. However, that’s not why it’s on this list. You see, while the Evoke 6061 is an electric cruiser, it can also be charged from 0% to 80% in 15 minutes! Considering that’s basically the same amount of time it would take you to refuel a motorcycle at a busy petrol station, it puts it on par with a petrol-powered bike.

Before you doubt it, let us tell you that this is not a marketing gimmick made with tiny batteries. In fact, the Evoke 6601 is equipped with a massive 25kWh battery that provides a range of 223-miles and is equipped with a powerful 120kW motor.
