Nissan is firmly moving towards a sustainable future and has solidified its position in the European market with an all-new 6-car electric range to be launched this summer.

With its unrivaled electric expertise and leadership, Nissan is accelerating the transition to electric vehicles with the brand’s most exciting and comprehensive offering to date.

Following the decision not to invest in Euro 7 passenger cars, Nissan will not launch any new pure combustion engine passenger cars in Europe from 2023. By fiscal 2026, its revenue mix in the region will be electrified, with a goal of reaching 100% by the end of the decade.

The announcement plays a leading role in realizing Ambition 2030, the company’s long-term vision for enhanced mobility and beyond.

“Nissan is moving towards an electrified future, with Europe leading the way. With Ambition 2030, we have set a clear direction, with our new electrified range, we are truly paving the way for a sustainable future. “

“Leveraging our global footprint and alliance partnerships, this is a milestone for Nissan in Europe to launch our most comprehensive offering to date. We leverage our disruptive nature and electrical expertise to deliver a range of electrified propulsion technologies that meet customer needs without compromising excitement. “

Nissan is moving beyond cars to build a comprehensive Electric Vehicle energy ecosystem, exploring initiatives to optimize and expand battery energy management capabilities. Nissan’s flagship manufacturing ecosystem, EV36Zero, based in Sunderland, UK, brings together the production of vehicles powered by renewable energy and battery production to create a blueprint for the future of manufacturing mobility.

By combining the EV36Zero with the new electrification range in the region, Nissan has truly turned the tide, forging a clear path towards electrification and carbon neutrality in Europe.

Nissan has set the bar for electrification, offering more choice, more excitement and more accessibility than ever before. With the introduction of hybrid technology from JUKE, e-POWER from the Qashqai and X-Trail, and the launch of the all-electric Ariya, the summer of 2022 will mark the level of electrification that Nissan will offer to meet customer demands.

As the electric revolution continues, Nissan is helping drivers achieve zero-emission mobility with a series of exciting electric crossovers. Nissan’s available powertrain portfolio reflects the diversity of its customers’ driving habits.

The LEAF, the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle, started a revolution and created the blueprint for the modern electric vehicle – since its launch in 2010, the LEAF has sold more than 577,000 vehicles worldwide and has driven more than 9 billion miles.

Nissan has developed its extensive electrification expertise through LEAF and has refined the winning formula over more than a decade of development to make electric vehicles accessible to all – with LEAF 2022 delivering more compelling designs, seamless Connected and efficient powertrain options.

Marking a new chapter in Nissan’s electrification journey, the Ariya is Nissan’s first all-electric coupe crossover and the pinnacle of what Nissan does best. The Ariya is the first vehicle to use Nissan’s sophisticated CMF-EV platform developed for the Alliance and is the ultimate electric experience. It embodies Nissan’s Japanese DNA, offering dynamic performance and one of the most spacious interiors in the segment.

Redefining all-electric driving, the Ariya will also feature e-4ORCE, the perfect balance of power and control. The seamless power distribution of the dual-motor system provides instant response and effortless acceleration in a variety of driving scenarios.

The all-new Townstar is Nissan’s next-generation all-electric compact LCV, designed to be a reliable, efficient and sustainable business partner, optimized for customers’ changing needs.

The model leverages synergies with the Alliance platform and has been designed with a clever combination of efficiency and practicality. Equipped with an all-electric powertrain, the all-new Townstar has a range of 177 miles on the combined WLTP cycle and features over 20 tech features ideal for last-mile delivery. This next-generation compact van has been designed to help future-proof sustainable business operations and accelerates the transition to electrification.
