16,000 vehicles were delivered in December 2021, an increase of 181% year-on-year.
41,751 vehicles were delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021, a year-over-year increase of 222%.
A total of 98,155 vehicles will be delivered in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 263%.
Cumulative deliveries reached 137,953 as of December 2021.
Despite continued challenges in the global supply chain, Xpeng Motors delivered 16,000 smart electric vehicles in December 2021, surpassing the monthly delivery benchmark of 15,000 for the second consecutive month. Deliveries in December were up 181% year over year, demonstrating the company’s solid business momentum and ability to execute.
In December 2021, 7,459 P7 smart sports saloons, 5,030 P5 smart family saloon, and 3,511 G3 and G3i smart Sport Utility Vehicles were delivered in December 2021. The P7 and G3 series increased by 102% and 75% year-on-year, respectively, and the P5 increased by 134% month-on-month, with a backlog of orders.
Total deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached 41,751 units, an increase of 222% year-on-year, with 21,342 P7 deliveries.
Total vehicle deliveries for the year ended December 31, 2021 reached 98,155 units, a year-on-year increase of 263%. Cumulative P7 deliveries for the year reached 60,569 units, a year-on-year increase of 302%. A total of 29,721 G3 and G3i smart SUVs will be delivered in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 148%. A total of 7,865 P5s were delivered in 2021.
As of December 31, 2021, the cumulative delivery of the company’s smart electric vehicles reached 137,953.

Xiaopeng uses a combination of lidar, radar and cameras to assist driving. Lidar systems use lasers to create 3D space by measuring the distance between objects and the time it takes for light to bounce back. Xinzhou Wu stated: “Lidar will provide 3D drivable space and accurate depth estimation for small moving obstacles, even children and pets, obviously other pedestrians and motorcycles for anyone who does a driving job.
Radar will provide the vehicle with the ability to detect the speed and position of objects. The cameras will provide the vehicle with basic semantic information, as Xinzhou Wu said.
Over the past few years, the price of lidar has dropped significantly, and drone companies such as DJI have announced the integration of their aerial survey technology. Zenmuse L1 – Lidar + RGB camera starts at $13,100.  Xiaopeng’s lidar system is provided by Livox. The falling price of lidar and the increase in innovation and development have enabled consumers to enjoy lower costs. “Our next car is for economy class. XPeng has moved away from CTP batteries to LFP batteries, which negates the need for cobalt in a battery, one of the most expensive materials in a battery. However LFP batteries do reduce the range of the vehicle. “Xpeng announces they were launching new versions of the P7 saloon and G3 Sports Utility Vehicle with LFP batteries. The new versions with lithium iron phosphate cells will be available for the rear-wheel-drive P7 sports saloon first.
